If you are pregnant or is planning a baby, the time is now to keep you healthy. Getting a healthy start ensures the smooth nine months ahead. Here, we give you an insight on the key points to take care during pregnancy.

Retail Therapy: Retail therapy adds extra heap of happiness for woman specially for expecting mothers. Mind and skin are intimately interconnected.  There are numerous skin disorders like acne, eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo etc that take place due to improper psychological health. To avert the adverse effects of emotions on the skin, go shopping and keep yourself happy.

Avoid Caffeine: Caffeine can be harmful to your skin and can also lead to the feeling of anxiety. So cut off the caffeine intake or at least lower down its consumption. Swap the caffeine with fresh juices and health supplements. If you still want to consume caffeine. Keep it restricted till 2 pm.

Spa Therapy: Massages during pregnancy are a perfect way to ease you from the back ache, firm shoulders and aching hips. Apart from reliving you from the pain, spa treatments can also elevate your mood and make you feel good, refreshed and rejuvenated.

Meditation: Yoga and meditation impart a holistic approach to your body, mind and skin. The different asanas and breathing techniques eases out the hurdles of pregnancy and helps in maintaining within the mind and body of pregnant woman.

Keep Stress at Bay: Stress can take a toll on your overall health and your skin and so keep yourself away from stress. Stress leads to the increase of psoriasis, itching, spreading out of capillaries and increase in acne. Keep a track of what leads to stress and try keeping yourself away from those things or situations.

Fitness:  Regular exercise improves the skin health by improving blood circulation to the skin surface imparting a healthy glow to the expecting moms. Pregnant women who exercise end up having a better body but make sure to consult your doctor before starting any regimen.

Proper Sleep: It is recommended to have at least 8-9 hours of sleep for pregnant women. Remove other distractions like TV and computer from your room and try sleeping in time. Take afternoon naps if possible.

Opt For A Comfortable Bed: Choose a comfortable bed for yourself as after the second trimester you would be spending most of your time there. Opt for a comfortable bed rather than good looking one. Keep extra pair of pillows for added support.

Stay Happy- Stay with people who make you happy. Go out for movies and dinners with your partner and close knit friends. Take up a hobby or read parenting books or go for a baby moon to make you  happy during the trimesters.
